1.6.1 (2609261633)

      <sparkle:version>2609261633</sparkle:version>
      <sparkle:shortVersionString>1.6.1</sparkle:shortVersionString>

Charge Limit is back on macOS 27

macOS 27 keeps battery charge control to the system, for every app, not just Juicy. So Juicy now works with it instead of around it: it sets Apple’s own Charge Limit for you. Pick 80 to 100 percent right in Juicy, keep the charge to full once switch and the limit alerts, and macOS holds the limit even while your Mac sleeps, draining the battery back down if it sits above it. The Charging settings tell you plainly what macOS handles on your Mac. Limits below 80 percent aren’t possible on macOS 27 yet. On macOS 26 everything works as before: any limit from 50, Sailing Mode, Heat Protection and Discharge.

Also new

Apple Watch battery. Juicy reads it through your iPhone, no app on the Watch needed. Turn it on under Settings, Devices, Show Apple Watch, and plug the iPhone in once so it can trust your Mac.

Fixed

Battery temperature and health readings on macOS 27.

Bluetooth devices that took too long to reconnect.

On a Mac where macOS is in charge, Juicy no longer claims to be charging up to your limit, and your own charged alerts fire again.

Clearer diagnostics when you send us a log.

Your batteries, right on your desktop

Widgets are here. We start with shipping three widget types:

All Batteries shows your Mac and every device at a glance,

Mac Battery gives one machine the big-number treatment, and

Device Battery puts the one you care about front and center.

They live on your desktop and in Notification Center, and they update while Juicy runs in your menu bar.

Every widget has its own settings.

Right-click it, choose Edit Widget, and pick which devices appear and in what order, the style (rings, a list, or bars like the dropdown), names on or off.

They work beautifully on macOS 27, where you can even switch a single widget to a quiet monochrome look while the rest of your desktop stays colorful. AirPods show left, right and case, and your charge limit shows as a tick on the Mac gauge.

There is also a new Widgets page in Settings with live previews of every widget and size, filled with your real devices. Start there.

Also new

A bigger menu bar icon. The new Large size scales the whole battery icon, digits included. Settings, Menu Bar, Size.

Low battery alerts on a weak charger. Plugged into a monitor, hub or phone charger that can’t keep up? Juicy notices the battery is still draining and fires your alerts anyway, instead of staying quiet just because a cable is attached.

1.5.6 (2608211929)

      <sparkle:version>2608211929</sparkle:version>
      <sparkle:shortVersionString>1.5.6</sparkle:shortVersionString>

Your device batteries as interactive icons, right in the menu bar + Keyboard Shortcuts

Pin your keyboard, mouse, or AirPods so their battery sits next to the Juicy icon in your menu bar, no clicking required. Add and reorder them in Settings, Menu Bar, and drag the Juicy icon itself anywhere in the lineup.

Also new

Open Juicy from anywhere with ⌃⌥J. Once the dropdown is open, single keys move you around: I for battery info, E for energy apps, D for devices, L for Low Power Mode. Rebind or remove any of them in Settings, Shortcuts.

Drag the info cards in the dropdown by their headers to reorder them. Juicy remembers the order.

Low battery alerts catch up after sleep. If your Mac sleeps through one of your alert levels, Juicy tells you the moment it wakes and shows the real level. One alert per discharge, so waking repeatedly at the same level stays quiet.

A new menu bar display shows time remaining and percentage together, like 1:30 · 32%.

Charge limits hold up better when macOS interferes with them: Juicy detects it, explains what happened, and re-applies your limit. The charging helper also reinstalls itself correctly after an app update, so your limit never gets stranded at an old value.

Fixed

Battery Health and Capacity Details read correctly again on macOS 27.

The menu bar icon now takes only the space it needs, so it stops nudging your other icons around.

Alerts set on a device that was later renamed now follow the merged device instead of going quiet.

Desktop Macs open straight to connected devices.

Toggles across the app animate more smoothly.

Stay juicy!

1.5.5 (2608032333)

      <sparkle:version>2608032333</sparkle:version>
      <sparkle:shortVersionString>1.5.5</sparkle:shortVersionString>

Here’s what’s new:

Safer charging on macOS betas (27+): Juicy now detects your Mac’s charging system, adapts where possible, and pauses charge features safely when the firmware isn’t supported yet. Includes early support for the new charging system in the macOS 27 betas. Please note macOS 27 Beta 4 is has some new unconfirmed changes that we’re still ironing out. You might experience some hiccups related to the charge limit feature on Beta 4. Please send us feedback should you encounter any issues on any version. We’re here to help!

Fixes an issue where Automatic Discharge could repeatedly restart or shut down Macs running the macOS 27 beta.

New discharge safety net: if discharging ever misbehaves, for example after a macOS update, Juicy switches it off automatically and tells you what happened.

Juicy now detects when macOS’s own charge limit is holding your battery below your Juicy limit, and shows a shortcut to fix it.

A heads-up banner appears in Charging settings when you’re running a macOS beta, since Apple can change charging behavior with every beta update.

      <sparkle:shortVersionString>1.5.4</sparkle:shortVersionString>

Juicy got juicier with a small update on top of the latest update. We identified and fixed a few more quirks on Intel-running Macs. Here’s what’s new:

Charge limit fixes: forced discharge no longer stops itself, and Sailing Mode behaves correctly around your limit.

Fixed charge limits for Intel Macs: the Mac’s own firmware holds the limit, so it keeps working even while Juicy isn’t running.

The menu bar icon now adapts automatically to light and dark backgrounds: every wallpaper, every display, always readable.

Choose Light, Dark, or Auto for Juicy’s dropdown and Settings in Settings → General.

More reliable Bluetooth device identification: correct names, fewer duplicates, steadier battery readings.

If macOS ever hides Juicy’s menu bar icon, just open the app again: a helper appears and brings it right back.

– iPhone & iPad Reading Fixes:

Fixed: iPad battery data: iPads were silently failing to report health and cycles. They now read correctly, from the 2015 models onward, and show their real names instead of codes like “iPad7,3”.

Clearer device prompt: plug in a locked or untrusted iPhone and Juicy now says exactly what it’s waiting for, rather than claiming the battery couldn’t be read.

      <sparkle:shortVersionString>1.5.3</sparkle:shortVersionString>

Juicy just got juicier. Here’s what’s new:

Juicy now speaks your language: Juicy has now been localized to 10+ languages including German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and more! Please let us know if you encounter any funny translations via the new translation feedback button.

Menu bar icon goes automatic: the battery icon now follows Light and Dark Mode on its own, so it always looks right. Still want to call the shots? Light, dark, white, and black live in Settings → Menu Bar.

Charge limit fixes for the latest macOS: Automatic Discharge behaves better on macOS 26 and Beta 27, battery temperature reads correctly again, and the charging helper quietly repairs itself after updates. No more silently stuck charge limits.

Better on desktop Macs: on iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio, Juicy stops pretending there’s a built-in battery and focuses on the batteries of your connected devices.

*Clearer charging status: when macOS holds charging (Optimized Battery Charging or the system charge limit), Juicy now says “Paused by macOS” instead of “Charging”, so you always know who’s in control.

Things are getting way juicier! 🧃

This is our biggest update yet. Juicy is now the most powerful battery app for Mac (according to us ツ).

Here’s what’s new:

– Charge Limit & Battery Care: cap charging at your chosen %, with Sailing Mode, Automatic Discharge, a one-tap top-up to 100%, and a MagSafe cable that turns green at the limit

– Energy App & Battery Insights: see exactly which apps drain your battery, live and over 24h / 7d / 30d visible within the new Settings page

– iPhone & iPad Battery Health: plug in any iPhone or iPad for real health, cycle count, temperature, and lifetime stats

– Power Flow: a live, animated diagram of the watts flowing between adapter, battery, and Mac, updated in real time

– Make the menu bar yours: light or dark icon, status colors on or off, or a clean minimal look

– More reliable readings for Logitech MX and other Bluetooth gear, plus menu bar dropdown fixes so your window does not overflow your screen anymore

Lot’s of new things got added. If you encounter any issues or have feedback, please don’t hesitate to let me know at support@getjuicy.app and I’ll happily help!

      <sparkle:shortVersionString>1.4.0</sparkle:shortVersionString>

Juicy now monitors all your devices, not just your Mac.

AirPods, Magic Mouse, Keyboard, Trackpad, Beats, even your iPhone and iPad — all in one place with the same beautiful alerts you’re used to.

Here’s all the juice:

– All your devices at one glance

Your device batteries are shown in a new section inside the menu bar dropdown. They are ranked by battery level so the one that needs charging is always at the top. Color-coded progress bars give you the full picture instantly.

– Per-device battery alerts

Set custom low-battery and fully-charged alerts for any connected device. Pick your threshold, color, sound, position, and screen glow.

– New Devices settings tab

Hide devices you don’t care about, configure alerts, and see detailed battery breakdowns for multi-compartment devices like AirPods.

– Persistent alerts, your way

Choose which alerts stay on screen until you dismiss them: set it individually per alert instead of one toggle for everything.

Some more fixes:

– Multi-monitor fix: Battery alerts and their border glow now always appear on the same screen.

– Easy on your Mac: Smart duty-cycled Bluetooth scanning keeps CPU and radio impact near zero.
